I've read some Clarke recently as an adult, and it's good but as a concept-focused author, he doesn't spend a lot of time making you care about his characters. Haven't read Asimov, and Heinlein was a profascist military nut, so.... More people need to read Karen Traviss or Ursula K. LeGuin....

This might be common knowledge by now, but.... I bless the rains down in Africa.

Unfortunately a lot of people here are like this. And they're also often the same folks who don't deal with emotional issues or listen to others very well.

Several good points there. Being nb and nd myself, I have a hard time living up to or even seeing the point of trying to live up to the various gender standards imposed upon people. Nothing really matches who I am inside, so I guess I'll try to do whatever makes sense to me?

Society's ideals of masc and fem change drastically over time. It's true that the current paradigm is mostly created by men for the male gaze, but women should get to choose how to present themselves. Op seems to be moving goal posts which could be pretty insulting to a lot of empowered women

Definitely not a fan of the way it's worded. She's not hyper masculine, she's society's ideal of hyper feminine. There's nuances here the op is kinda steamrolling over. I get what they're trying to say, but it also implies that there's an absolute definition of feminine, which is very debatable.
