Cineplex Pictures and GKIDS are bringing the next Jujutsu Kaisen chapter to Canadian cinemas this month. Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution offers fans the Shibuya Incident storyline from the second season alongside the first two episodes of the third season, which premieres next month. The show itself is an adaptation of Gege Akutami’s ongoing Weekly Shonen Jump manga series of the same name.

Disney+ in Canada is set to have more content from Toei Animation. On November 19th, the streamer added the entirety of Dragon Ball Super, with Digimon Adventure and Dragon Ball Z Kai set for December 3rd and 17th, respectively.

GKIDS is bringing Angel's Egg to Canadian cinemas this month. This will mark the first standalone North American release of the 1985 film. Its footage had been used for the 1988 live-action movie In the Aftermath. Angel's Egg received a 4K restoration for its 40th Anniversary, overseen by the director.

Crunchyroll is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Overlord anime this month with a special event in theatres. Featuring the initial seven episodes adapted from Kugane Maruyama's light novel series, Last Night to Login follows the 2024 cinema run of The Sacred Kingdom, the first original film in the series.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures are bringing the first Chainsaw Man theatrical film to Canadian theatres this month. Directly picking up after the events of the 2022 anime adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga of the same name, the film opened across Japanese cinemas in September.

GKIDS is bringing the 100 Meters to select Canadian theatres this month. The film is an adaptation of Uoto's 2018-2019 manga series of the same name and marks director Kenji Iwaisawa's second film. The movie debuted in Japan on September 19th.

French-language horror cable channel Frissons TV is refreshing its L'heure Manga block this October. The broadcaster will add Cowboy Bebop and Steins;Gate to its lineup on October 12th at 7 and 7:30PM. The duo replace the block's current Ergo Proxy and Hellsing reruns.

GKIDS is bringing Satoshi's Kon's debut film Perfect Blue back to Canadian theatres this month. The movie was loosely adapted from  Yoshikazu Takeuchi's novel of the same name. The film had its global premiere at 1997's Fantasia Festival in Montreal, prior to its general Japanese theatrical release in February 1998.

Canadian pay-TV providers and WildBrain itself have confirmed the Family suite of channels will shutter in late October. As announced last month, Family Channel, Family Jr., WildBrain TV and Télémagino are ending operations due to a loss of carriage with the nation's largest distributors Rogers and Bell.

Aniplex, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures are bringing Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle to Canadian theatres this month. The film is the first in a planned trilogy set to conclude the animated adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer manga series. The movie opened in Japan on July 18th.

GKIDS is bringing the Chinese animated film The Legend of Hei 2 to select Canadian theatres this month. The film acts as a sequel to the 2019 feature based on The Legend of Luo Xiaohei, a flash animation and webtoon series by artist MTJJ. The movie opened in China on July 25th.  The first film received a direct-to-video release in North America by Shout!

Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens made its Canadian debut on a variety of streaming platforms earlier this summer. All 92 episodes of the English dub are available on Hoopla and Tubi, with the first season also accessible on Amazon Prime. The releases are handled by Cineverse, who distributes the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise digitally and on home video in North America on behalf of Konami Cross Media.

Canadian children's entertainment company WildBrain has announced its intent to shutter its linear television business in Canada. While a specific date wasn't shared, Family Channel, Family Jr., WildBrain TV and Télémagino will cease operations in "the coming months."

With Corus set to shutter five of its kids and youth channels next month, it appears the Canadian company is also set to lose some associated programming rights. Coinciding with the closure of its dedicated branded linear channel, Nickelodeon content like Spongebob Squarepants, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Loud House, Blaze and the Monster Machine…

CJ 4DPlex Film is bringing the Seishun Inoshishi Atarashii Gakko! The Movie concert film to Canadian theatres this month. The release celebrates the girl group's tenth anniversary, featuring documentary footage spliced with the final performance of the Nippon Calling Tour 2024. The film opened in Japan on June 6th.

Canadian telecommunications trade publication CARTT has reported that Corus Entertainment will shutter a handful of its secondary kids and youth channels this year. ABC Spark, Disney Jr., Disney XD, La Chaine Disney and Nickelodeon will all cease broadcasting on September 1st. Corus confirmed the report, stating the company "regularly reviews its portfolio of channels to ensure we are meeting the evolving needs of our audiences and distribution partners."

Two Calgary produced anime dubs are seeing the light of day for the first time in a very long time. Toei Animation will stream Pretty Cure on their official YouTube channel on Saturdays and Sundays starting June 28th. The nostalgia-themed "Summer Weekend Splash" event will also showcase the original Digimon Adventure series and the 4Kids adaptation of Magical DoReMi. The latter's dub similarly not having been seen officially in over a decade.

GKIDS is bringing Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye to Canadian theatres this June. The release combines the last episode of the Dan Da Dan anime's first season with the first three episodes from the show's upcoming second season. The screenings will also include an exclusive interview with series co-directors Fuga Yamashiro and Abel Gongora. Adapted from Yukinobu Tatsu's ongoing Shonen Jump+ manga of the same name, the new episodes will debut through Crunchyroll and Netflix beginning July 3rd.
