In the game, after 1.Rfe1 h6! 2.Be3 Re7 Black solved all the issues and a draw was agreed soon.
However, White missed an amazing idea:
1.Bxg6!! hxg6, and only now 2.Rfe1(D)
With the h-file opened and the pin still in place, Qh4 and Re3–h3 leads to a powerful attack!

Black’s best move is natural-looking 1...h5!, but what to do after 2.bxc6?
Here comes the idea: 2...b6!!(D) — a pawn sacrifice that shuts down White’s queenside play, letting Black shift full focus to kingside attack.
⚠️ Note: 2...bxc6? 3.Qa6! is not good for Black.

White to be quick on the kingside. Strong is 1.Qe1!, for example:
1...Nxa3 2.g4! Nc4 (2...fxg4 3.Bxh7+! — Greek Gift)
3.Kh1(D) with Rg1, Qh4, gxf5 to follow, with a promising attack.
P.S. The passive 1.Qb3? is too slow and after 1...a5, and Black is clearly better.

- 2.Bxg5 Bg3!, White’s king is caught in a mating net; e.g. 3.Bd2 Qf6 followed by Qh4+

White was already much better, but Esipenko finished in style:
1.Ba6!(D) — and if 1...bxa6?, 2.Qa8# ends it immediately.
In the game, 1...c6 was played, but after 2.b5!, the queenside opened up and Black’s position collapsed.
