After CachyOS stopped detecting my CPU fan at random (probably after a certain update), I switched back to Windows as a "sanity check" so to speak.

Since it is a brand new pc with newly purchased hardware. I thought Linux may not be the issue

But it's flying on Windows. Much more quiet too

The article has spoilers but this post won't.

I agree with the article, though. This show is a VERY slow burn. But it's a good, fun watch

There were a lot of great TV shows this year with Pluribus, Welcome to Derry, even Alien Earth had some really great moments

‘Pluribus’ May Be Slow, but It Was Never Boring
Vince Gilligan's Apple sci-fi drama 'Pluribus' has been criticized for its slow pace, but the show is never boring.

We knew this was on the horizon ... but it still hurts. LCD pricing allowed it to be such a massive value buy

It makes me wonder what this will do to the resale market

The LCD Steam Deck's days are coming to an end, as Valve wind down production of the OG model
It would be sad if it wasn't an inanimate object that I don't even own any version of.

So, the "Steam Machine" I've been working on...recently stopped working properly.

I dunno if it was an update to CachyOS, or a setting I changed. But it could no longer detect the CPU fan.

The fan itself only ran at a set speed, low. The bigger load put on the cores the faster it thermal throttled

"gamers are routinely getting gouged for graphics cards, and bled dry by the newfound demand for RAM chips"

I feel like I bought the hardware for my "Steam Machine" at just the right time.

I got 32gb of DDR5 RAM CL30 6000Mhz for right under 175. Prices are wild rn

I agree with this sentiment, more or less. There could be a few AI related catalysts that keep money flowing to the industry (extending this price pressure), but I don't see it lasting much longer than this

LLMs like Gemini and ChatGPT would offer such a better user experience if they said something like "I'm not definitive here, but..." and then "hallucinate" things when they can't verify the suggestion

There's gotta be a tell, or a trigger that happens when it decides to completely make stuff up

Android 16 QPR2 experimental releases will be available soon. We're dealing with a lot of attacks on the project branching off from the smear campaign in France. We'd appreciate if our community would debunk this nonsense across platforms for us so we can focus on QPR2. Thanks.
