Back home* in Barcelona, this Kenya from Hidden has a really distinct Mandarin acidity and sweetness and more depth behind it. Really nice

Developing a new stereotype in my travels which is that Spanish people go NUTS for Pringles and Kit Kats

And now a washed Ethiopia from Manhattan in Amsterdam at Unfiltrd - lovely floral, citrus almost bergamot. Quite nice
November 14, 2025 at 10:37 AM
And next another Kenya Natural (trend incoming?) from Coffea Circulor in Gothenburg SE - big plum/blood orange acidity and sweetness, deep. Served at Gesha in Madrid

Back at it with a crazy first, a Liberica (!) from Vietnam roasted by Tanat and served at Ambu in Madrid. Crazy aroma like raspberry pie but a gentle white chocolate type sweetness in the cup. Fascinating

The Rwandas are popping off! This is from Wave in Lisbon, served at Buna - raspberry-nectarine. Lovely
November 3, 2025 at 9:23 AM
This one makes me think of home - an anaerobic Colombia I've had from Naomi Joe - this version from The Folks in Lisbon is super malic, cherry, living up to the Fruity Punch name
November 3, 2025 at 8:33 AM
Here's an oddball, a natural Ethiopia from Copenhagen Coffee Lab in Lisbon. Fairly sweet but also very tart, little caramelized, ends up very pineapple? Definitely a new experience

Last stop in Porto, Von & Vonnie, roasters of yesterday's Uganda - this is a natural Kenya which is unusual but tasty! Adds another stone fruity layer on top of the typical blackberry type deal and adds some zip

The Francesinha seems like a bit they're doing to American tourists in Porto but I saw several locals getting it and it does hit on a day with over an inch of rain

The Kenya was so good I then found their shop and got a Chiroso from Colombia, big limeade and floral
October 31, 2025 at 12:19 PM
Couldn't resist the triple - SL-28 from Myanmar, Uganda, and Kenya all roasted in Portugal and served at C'alma in Porto
October 31, 2025 at 12:13 PM
And a rare Papua New Guinea! Natural, from 7g across the river. Super dark chocolate cherries, it's a fun profile and kind of a bummer more don't roast PNG (or Indonesia generally)
October 30, 2025 at 12:47 PM
And we roll into a new country at Porto's Combi - this Colombia has a ton of orange acidity and sweetness
October 30, 2025 at 11:15 AM
In Vigo we don't judge, we just appreciate that you've read a book
October 29, 2025 at 2:53 PM
For a switch-up, this is a co-fermented Sidra from Hi Day in Vigo. Little process funk but big tropical fruit and green apple acidity
October 29, 2025 at 12:12 PM
And a nice washed Ethiopia from Conuco in A Corunha - classic peachy black tea, tasty
