Khat comes into the story some time later and essentially takes over Zheke's unfinished business, becoming the WoL. The Scions don't stay in contact with Zheke per se, but there's mutual keeping tabs on the other party and Zheke is the reason Khat comes into contact with the Scions at all.

Also randomly thought of incredibly self-indulgent Zheke lore. I need more time to cook on that but it has me grinning to myself like 😏
