This is crazy. How can a code editor founded (well, cloned) by 4 university students be valued at $10B just after 2 years? 🫧🗯️

So true

Claude to all coding tools and editors today:

Thank you all for trying, it's the effort that counts! 🖕

What use to be one of the hardest and most expensive parts 2 years ago is now easy thanks to genAI.

Suddenly the easiest part of the startup is building the actual service/app

While Sammy and OpenAI is busy protecting its imaginary moat the other AI company is quietly providing us with really useful and interesting stuff www.anthropic.com/news/the-ant...

Unwriten rule: The bigger the company the worse its mobile app

I don't understand why it's so hard for large enterprises with resources and money to create a useful mobile app with a smooth user experience. Especially when they force you to use the app

Going to Cape Town. Anything I shouldn't miss while there?

If OpenAI or Anthropic will start changing API prices based on current demand we will all be screwed

I've been home sick for a week and binged Alice in Borderland on Netflix. Wow! What a show! Best I've seen in a loooong time. 100 times better than Squid Games. Make sure to watch it!

One thing I love about AI is how safe I feel when I ask LLM stupid or strange questions. Sometimes it even praises me for asking such "interesting" questions 😄

All points to that next year ai coding ecosystem will be split into two camps:

- Tools for developers
- Tools for non-developers

Where the last one will be very expensive, very powerful and not very flexible.

While AI tools for devs will 5x productivity but also introduce 5x bugs

New Gemini 2.0 model is really cool! Only watched their official demo videos on YT but the hype is real!

Painful for OpenAI to watch being bypassed by competition. All this while trying to get their systems up and running again

Will Google's new quantum chip make gpus obsolete? If yes and they manage to setup a production line they will leapfrog every ai company soon.

The next big innovation race is in hardware

A trick I use often when jamming with ChatGPT and Claude is to edit my last message if I am not satisfied with the answer.

Keeps the precious context smaller and cleaner and you learn faster what works and what doesn't

Saturday.

I had all these plans. I was going to do so much. Catch up with everything I planned to do during the work week but didn't.

I got none of it done.

But you know what? Instead I did lots of fun things I didn't plan!

Sometimes life is about saying yes and just going with the flow

Today was the first time I booked a trip through a travel chat app. 3 flights with 3 different airlines. Such a smooth experience! Async too.

Actually I wanted to book yesterday evening but they were "closed for the day." Finally an app with normal working hours! 😄

An AI agent for me is a process with an LLM, its own state, flow control, decision tree, with access to various tools (function calls) and ability to talk to other agents.

Elixir sounds like THE perfect language to build AI agents in with its cheap, stateful long-lived processes
