Sherelle’s 6Music show last week was a celebration of the influence of the Windrush generation… And it was just banger after banger from my (musical) youth. Althea & Donna, Janet Kay, Desmond Dekker, Musical Youth, John Holt, Bob & Marcia… just music I intrinsically link with growing up

I grew up as a white kid in South Wales in the 70s & 80s… on one hand, it’s a bit odd that I ended up being completely obsessed with reggae/dub/ska… on the other hand, you see old clips like this and it makes perfect sense…

‘Breaking the Waves’ & ‘Emily Watson’ is always my go-to answer for that “Pick a movie. Keep one actor. The rest are played by Muppets” thing that periodically goes around …

Was a big fan of their entry in Skint’s ‘On the Floor at the Boutique’ mix CD series…
