This case resonated with me because I am also Thai and to see an innocent elderly being pushed around and end up dead is heartbreaking thus I could use my cell phone to share this article and resulted in support of the #StopAsianHate through my phone.

An example of this would be #StopAsianHate and just like other hashtags, this hashtag was used to promote and bring attention to the matter. #StopAsianHate was created from the rise of Asian hate since the COVID pandemic since some people blame Asian races for what happened which is an untrue fact.

Cell phones are used to document these unjust actions and the footage became evidence to share online thus bringing more attention to the matter and through phones, people can spread awareness and help support the movement just by a simple click through their phones.

In this current age of technology, cellphones have become the most important tools in our everyday lives. Not only it allow us to connect with people wirelessly, it also can be used to record and document the situation that is happening in front of our eyes.

The latest update stated that this aggressor has been captured and brought to justice which proves the question of what would have happened if these women had not shared their story on social media and gained a lot of attention online, some of their videos even reached 1 million views.

This story caught the attention of traditional media and several news channels are now covering their story, the police were also involved in catching the aggressor.

After her viral video, there are more women sharing a similar story on their TikTok as well which turns out that they all got assaulted by the same man in New York City.

This phenomenon is only growing more rapidly each year and with the rise of TikTok since 2020, social media use is only increasing and there are multiple times where regular social media user was able to get the attention of the mainstream media and got their story covered in live television.
