Flathead season in Philly is in full swing, caught 26 fish last weekend in one night, with 12 of them weighing over 20lbs!!

It’s officially spring time in PA which means it’s time to get back on the Flathead grind and I could not have dreamed of a better way to start the year than with my second largest flathead ever!!! It weighed 31.5lbs!

It was so cool, we caught 8 Sturgeon over 2 days and every fish looked so different. The scutes varied so much in sharpness and look, some the skin had almost fully grown over them,

It is very interesting how much White Sturgeon can vary in snout length. The pictures are White Sturgeon I caught back in August in the Fraser river, and are roughly the same size, look how different the length of their snouts is! #sturgeonsaturday

A preserved Atlantic Sturgeon (Acipenser oxyrinchus) for #sturgeonsaturday in the collection at the Academy of Natural Sciences Philadelphia. This specimen was originally from the E.D. Cope collection and caught from the Deleware river.

Asian Arowana (Scleropages formosus) collected in 1598-1601!In the fish collection at the Academy of Natural Sciences Philadelphia. They are still in remarkable condition considering they were collected over 400 years ago.

My Favorite catches so far, 33 lbs Flathead Catfish caught in my home waters in Philadelphia PA, 8ft 9in fork length, 47in girth White Sturgeon My Dad and I caught in the Fraser River B.C., and a 60lbs Blue Catfish I Caught in the James River Virginia. All fish safely released always.

Went to see the most majestic animal to ever exist today. The always amazing Australian Lungfish (Neoceratodus forsteri) at the National Aquarium!
