Here's a town map I did for Luna Ryder's current cozy fantasy Kickstarter, The Wheel Deal!

The "Old Briarhaven" area is inhabited by centaurs, hence the ramps instead of stairs.

A second cityscape study. I'm trying to get textures of brick and stone across with few brush strokes. This one was also about two hours.

Today's study... a cityscape. I think I'll focus on urban scenes for a bit. This took me two hours, and I want to get that time down.

I'm trying to get back into digital painting studies. Here's a landscape painting I spent 40 minutes on. I want to practice some more landscapes, cityscapes, and different textures.

Also, I'm experimenting with Rebelle, a new-to-me painting software.

Two maps for lesbian romance author Sacha Black's new dark academia, Architecti!

These two maps (Finis's campus and the cutaway of the inverted tower at the center) are two of the most detailed and complicated maps I've ever drawn.

Here's a map I just shared to my Instagram! A small town for author Tara Lush's Crescent Moon Mysteries series. Can you spot the ghost?

Happy release day to Ghosts & Gowns by Lucinda Race! I had the pleasure of creating the map for this new cozy mystery series.

If you couldn't guess... the heroine is a dressmaker!

A new card for The Romance Writer's Oracle! "The Baker", since bakeries and bakers seem to pop up quite a lot in the romance genre...

I'm now at 31/40 cards done! I've still got a ways to go, but I'm closing in on the finish line.

I found some maps I made in high school! I've come a long way since then.

A map I created for author @dnbryn.bsky.social‬ and the Kickstarter campaign Guides for Dating Vampires!

I love how the map turned out, and D.N. Bryn was wonderful to work with. Seriously, big shout out them!

A map for TL Stone's Tusks, Tails, and Teacakes, a new cozy fantasy set in a tavern! I loved doing the frame for this one -- it's food and beverages that are featured in the book!

A process GIF of my "The Ingenue" piece. This is basically just flipping through some of my Photoshop layers, although I do usually start with the flat basic shapes then shade in and add texture.

A new map I can share! This is author Ginny Sterling's town, Yonder.

Another map I created for the book Grave Situations by Louisa Masters! The frame decor and color scheme are designed to match the world map I made earlier.

Here's a card from the Romance Writer's Oracle I haven't shared here yet, The Orphan. This card is the "rags" stage of "rags to riches."

The Romance Writer's Oracle is at 28 cards done now, so I'm closing in on 75% of completed art!

A map I created for Louisa Masters' upcoming M/M fantasy romance, Grave Situations! If you want to work with me on a map project, I've got availability starting in April.

It’s 4AM and I’m randomly awake, so I’m going try this thing.

A close-up of "The Ingenue" card from my romance writing inspiration card deck project (The Romance Writer's Oracle).

Have I mentioned here that I create tokens for the #Roll20 marketplace?

Anyway, I'm trying to get back into uploading new items and finishing up the WIPs that have been on my hard drive for months.

The below are new packs - Village Music, Elven Nobles, Market Folks, & Victorian Vampires

Art vs Artist for 2024.

This year has been a lot, but I'm proud of the work I've done. 2024 brought more color commissions, more maps for special editions, my first cutaway map, and my first piece published in a major trad edition.

That's a hard question! Maybe "The Mate"? I think it's one that that fits a bunch of tropes well, plus I love doing art of long fancy dresses.

Another piece for the upcoming romance genre card deck. The idea is a writing tool deck with forty cards, all of different romance book tropes and character types.

@thez.bsky.social was a huge source of feedback and support for the project. This was her favorite card, although I've since made more

A close up from the map I did for Jasmine Walt's Kickstarter campaign.
November 18, 2024 at 4:58 PM
I haven't been around a lot because... well, see my previous posts.

I'm dropping in to share that Jasmine Walt's Kickstarter for the special edition versions for Of Dragons and Fae is now live. And I did the map! I love how this map turned out and am so happy I can now share it.

I'm working on a new cutaway map! The plan is for it to be a fantasy library.

The art rambling is that I'm trying a different perspective. Last time I did isometric, which artificially aligns all sight-lines along a uniform grid. It's the sort of perspective you see in pixel art video games.
