I think this is the same everywhere, taxpayers don't like to think about/see their money going to 'crooks' instead of health and education. And/or govts don't like to think their country really has that much disorder from their ivory towers

it's fairly simple...people with poor mental health also have poor levels of employment, therefore they can't afford anything but community health. Also, their level of need is greater than 10 subsidised sessions per year (although they could have one a week with a psychiatrist??).

risk assessment based on actuarial data has less than 60% accuracy. Even with professional judgement tools, we can only just get it to 80% accuracy. This will never work. @barristersecret.bsky.social
