I’m so bad at Guilty Gear, but I absolutely adore it. The characters, the music, and whatever the fuck that story is just hit so well for me. I plan on making more GGST fanart in the future, but this sketch just sort of turned into I-No while I was scribbling.

WHEW! I struggled with this page, but it came out pretty dang well. I leaned on Yusuke Murata, Takehiko Inoue, and Kentaro Miura art as a reference here while fumbling through hatching. Speed lines are cuss and I don't like them. Here’s a couple process pics of inks and roughs.

I think a more loose style might be how I move forward with the comic, but I want to find a happy medium between my hyper dipshit detail inks I currently do and my rough sketch phase. Folks at the con seemed to like the rough sketches I had so I’m messing around more looking for that sweet spot.

While working on future chapters of our comic I thought it would be cool if another supporting character also had a revenant like Roger, but absolutely HATES Roger. I want her to be a mix of Sadako from The Ring and a little bit of Catherine Earnshaw from Wurthering Heights.

This weekend I went to an art store and bought Tachikawa g-pen and maru nibs as well as some fine line brushes. I also scooped up a bottle of Holbein Super opaque white and Deleter so I can do a little comparison. I want to ink the sketch above using these new tools.

I love the X-Men and I guess Cyclops has always been my dude. Probably had more to do with Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and that one Konami X-Men arcade cabinet at the pizza joint I went to as a kid.

I’ve been wanting to get back to traditional inking and my friends have been encouraging me to do so. Tombow pens are fun (also the pentel brush pen and microns heh).
