What he fails to understand is that behaving like that will win no one over to his views. He should have been invited to leave.

Stealing that... ;-)

Too late for that. He already has all the power. Can no longer be ignored and laughed at. For better or worse, he has to be engaged with. (And yes, I hate that this is the situation).

If she was fine after a 5 minute lay down then perhaps she should not have gone and wasted the NHS resources. Typical right wing snowflakes...

That peice of paper gained the UK time to rearm. The war was inevitable anyway, the only thing that Chamberlain could do practically was to play for time.

This is data from the USA. Not all states had lockdowns and the majority happened in march-april 2020 (cali was longer). The chart shows a missing 2021 flu season: when the main restriction was masks and staying at home when sick.

OP isn't.

Only if your nuclear defense is capable of destroying all of your opponents capability. If you cannot do that then you simply condemn your own population.
March 8, 2025 at 4:01 PM
Dangerous, yes. But it does not mean they will not, because you will be starting a nuclear war that you cannot win just to stop a conventional war.

But my wider point is that more nukes provide destabilising entropy into an already fragile system increasing risk for all.

You forget that Putin possibly does not care about that if it gets him some advantages...? *You* also have to have a population that is comfortable to elect a leader who will use a first strike against Russia which will result in their own deaths.

Don't be disingenuous then. These are not any random trucks. They are launch platforms or transporters which have security details and will move in and out of military areas for maintenance and troops.

I.e. easily spotted and tracked and monitored.
March 8, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Technically that makes sense. But that is not what I am arguing against.

The issue is that you need to have sufficient forces to survive a first strike and the will to risk losing most of your population.

As we have seen with Isreal and Syria your nuclear dreams may invite attack.
March 8, 2025 at 3:08 PM
Are you totally confident that the USA (particularly with its current administration) will allow you to modify JASSM to carry a nuclear warhead?

The drone comment is silly, as you know, defense radars are designed for specific purposes and high flying stealth missiles are expected targets.
March 8, 2025 at 1:12 PM
I would have thought that your experience of relying on the USA would deter you from relying on others? From your own (and mine as I am half german) history - it's easy for a country to go from good guys to the bad guys....
March 8, 2025 at 1:05 PM
So this would mean your "tripwire" before launching a first strike is quite high - meaning you would need to do this while you still had most of your forces and therefore before you know that you could not survive with conventional forces. The response would kill most of your population...
