More Jeanette MacDonald in HD! This is not a drill!

One of my absolute favorite movies. So many wonderful moments, and Vivien Leigh is a part of so many of them! Remains one of my 10 favorite movies of all time!
It's Vivien Leigh's 112th birthday today! I'm celebrating with one of her very best films and performances, Emma, Lady Hamilton in That Hamilton Woman!

Very good film, excellently crafted with a simple yet effective story. Valentino was there as well.

4/5 could go 3.5/5
Ok Valentino, this is your third chance now to impress me.... taking yet another break from my birthday project to watch movies that came into my collection after I decided on dates. Time for the oldest movie in my collection I've yet to see: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

Turned 29 yesterday, so I celebrated the best way I could!

Hi, it's been a while. Movie wise, it definitely has... my first movie back will be the last film from the 2nd Best Picture lineup that I need to (and can) see: The Hollywood Revue. The rest in that lineup are incredibly mediocre at best and unwatchable at worst. Will this be good? Let's see.

Gonna head to bed, but I think this restoration looks gorgeous! Again, glad to be recording this, since I don't know if it'll get a physical release, especially since it's ABC, and thus with Disney.

Recording Duel in the Sun so I can watch the restoration that's airing on TCM on a later date. Such a guilty pleasure of mine. #TCMParty

Sidenote, there's a long prelude and overture that seemingly never ends and yeah, Sleznick couldn't help himself.

Tonight's rewatch (after coming back from Pride and Prejudice, which was excellent) is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, in honor of Adriana Caselotti, who would have been 109 today!

An absolute dream every time I see it and a true triumph, Cinderella is one of those movies that remains timeless every time I see it. What a beautiful movie!

5/5, of course, and Cinderella remains my favorite!
A very happy birthday to Ilene Woods, who would have been 96 today! In honor of her, I'm rewatching, Cinderella, my favorite film of all time!

Happy 96th Audrey Hepburn Day to you all!

Rewatching Roman Holiday (first time watching the 4K), for the first time! Let's see how it holds up!

An enjoyable little movie, with a solid mix of action, comedy and drama. It gets a bit silly at the end, but this was well done! 3.5 or 4/5
Tonight I'm finally watching The World in His Arms! This was to celebrate Anthony Quinn's birthday. My birthday project has gotten wildly out of control, as I expected it to. Anyways, let's see how this movie goes!

Been a while since I watched this (or a Marlene Dietrich film in general), so it's time for my rewatch, and poor Melvyn Douglas is my excuse... Time for Angel!

Spoilers. I didn't. The story is solid, but the execution is very poor at times, not helped by the blatant miscasting of Jennifer Jones (who is good, if not great when away from Holden). Lovely cinematography and a great song can't carry a movie.

2.5 or 3/5
Well, I haven't seen this in about a decade, and it's Bill Holden's birthday, so what better excuse to finally rewatch Love is a Many Splendored Thing? That and I need to actually watch this blu ray disc, since it cost me a bit more than I care to admit.

Will I love it like I did then? Let's see.

Time to rewatch Peeping Tom! Very late celebration of Karlheinz Bohm's birthday (which was a while ago....)!
April 16, 2025 at 2:21 AM
It's the 95th birthday of Mary Costa! What better way to celebrate than by watching the movie that made her an icon and one of my Top 100 movies of all time? Time for what's becoming a yearly rewatch of Sleeping Beauty!

Just a cozy and breezy little comedy, perfect for Doris Day's film debut and her timeless voice. A bit too silly at times, but it all works out in the end!

3.5/5
Want to watch something cozy, so I'm rewatching Doris Day's film debut, Romance on the High Seas! Her birthday was yesterday, so what a good time to do so!
