Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

Federal data collection on sexual orientation and gender identity are essential for public health and policy. The removal of such data from the public record and the loss of future data would set the United States decades backward.

On Jan 29, OPM issued a memo directing federal department and agency heads to remove webpages and documents that “promote gender ideology.” Huge datasets were removed before a court ordered them restored. Our new report examines the effects of losing federal LGBT data on research, law, and policy.👇
