If this was their initial announcement, I think several devs would grumble but ultimately not change anything (maybe avoid updating to 2023 LTD as long as possible).
Instead, I think some devs are just gone.

Well I guess Unity backpedaled a bit? Eh, knew they would, thats not really the issue there: issue is still the sudden breach of trust with the random ass "retroactive fees" and "we have altered the deal, pray we do not alter it further" mentality. Still considering Godot for next project!
