ICYMI: Last week, we added 2024 presidential election data to the site. If you go into the election results page, you can view the results broken down by any of the geographies we have available (county, city, state leg districts, etc.). You can also map them! #ksleg

2024 presidential election breakdowns coming to the site soon!
September 5, 2025 at 2:25 PM
We're behind on getting 2024 results mapped and broken down by various district types, but we're making progress! We've finished rebuilding our precinct maps from scratch, attempting to have geography for every possible ballot type in the state - about 7,200 total!

Good morning, it's primary day in (parts of) Kansas! Off-year elections here are nonpartisan, so primaries only happen when enough candidates file to need them. This year, out of the ~2000 races that are up in November, two dozen will narrow the field today. #ksleg #electionday

The last special election of the year that we’re aware of is today’s USD 367 (Osawatomie, Miami County) bond election. The election night results show it passing!

Read through the Mulvane information too quickly, there were actually two propositions on the ballot. Here is the second one.

We're tracking four school bond measures today: USD 261 (Haysville), USD 263 (Mulvane), USD 436 (Caney Valley), and USD 499 (Galena)! #ksleg

Good morning! We're tracking four special elections today: a sales tax measure in Lenexa (Johnson Co), a measure to sell a park in Westwood (Johnson Co), and school bond elections for USD 226 (Meade) and USD 231 (Gardner Edgerton)! #ksleg

Sedgwick County has posted the final results from the USD 259 bond vote from a couple weeks ago - it failed, falling less than 350 votes shy of a majority out of 28,000. They've also posted results by precinct, which we've mapped here. #ksleg

USD 235 (Uniontown, Bourbon County) had a special bond election on Tuesday, which looks to have passed - the unofficial results went 211 yes, 104 no. #ksleg
March 6, 2025 at 2:51 PM
It looks like there is still one precinct only partially reporting, but the election night returns for the USD 259 bond question currently show a narrow loss.

Good morning! Today is the biggest special election currently on the calendar for the year, a bond question for USD 259 (Wichita)! #ksleg

We're in the process of collecting, organizing, and mapping the 2024 election results, and we'll get those posted as soon as possible. While that's happening, we're in the middle of special election season. These are the elections we've identified, this may expand as the spring progresses. #ksleg

Yesterday the city of Gardner in Johnson County had a special election to renew a 0.5% sales tax for city infrastructure. The unofficial results show an easy passage, 1,717-817. #ksleg

Another election from Tuesday - USD 111 (Doniphan West) had a $6.3M school bond vote, which looks to have failed by a large margin, 130-348.

The special election season in Kansas is underway! The calendar is starting to fill up with school bond and municipal sales tax questions - today is one from Abilene (Ike's hometown!), looking to approve a 0.35% sales tax for recreation facility improvements.

Electoral College day is coming up! We just posted an article with some background on Kansas's electors throughout the state's history, including the full list of 309 electors we've had representing us. Check it out! ike-lab.com/analysis_202...

It's results collection season! For the next couple months, the project will be to collect results, organize them in our database, and post them to the site. We're also building our precinct maps up from scratch to align with the voter registration file, which we'll keep updated monthly afterward.

Week 1 of advance voting reporting wrapped up this morning. Not many votes cast so far, but they will take off next week, as people receive their mail ballots and counties like Johnson start in-person early voting over the weekend. Check out the site: ike-lab.com/dailyev_2411...

The first mail-in vote report for Kansas was issued about an hour ago! Check out the county and partisan breakdown on our site. ike-lab.com/dailyev_2411...

A cool feature is that we also can map all of the statewide race breakdowns we already had on the site. If you want, say, the 2018 gubernatorial race by the current state house map, you can get it visualized!

We just launched a new section of the site: maps! We've got a collection of current districts and local governments up already, and we're working to build out our historic district map collection.

We've posted our snapshot of Kansas registered voters from the start of the month. Kansas passed a milestone a couple weeks ago: 2 million registered voters! See what they look like: ike-lab.com/vfile_202410...
