A new revelation for me was about how American design around immigration may be a tactic of erasing Black history by bringing in immigrants that are EASILY devoid of knowledge of said history to aid in complicity in that erasure.

Not that I hadn't seen it before, but it was because of the accuracy of the reflections the film gave me on my own feelings about how much white normative culture sucked from Black culture.

I realized that my initial "freaked out" feelings came from the real reflective nature this film gave me on white vampirity on everything Black in today's "American" culture.

In comparing and contrasting my own initial takes, I deeply appreciated the deeper cultural takes from Black POVs on the film. I learned so much.

So I went to YouTube where I found more reflections from Black creators who reflected more deeply about the film.

In my initial obsessive state, I sought out podcasts discussing the film. I listened to 2 pods and was thoroughly disappointed at the very surface perspectives provided. Then I realized they were both white POVs. And frankly, I wanted some deeper reflections.
