We are in agreement here, we’re happy for this ceasefire and likely we both want a ceasefire in Gaza as well. Ignoring that Israeli civilians are suffering immensely from hezbollah is doing a disservice to that goal.

I took issue with your tweet cause it pretends as if a war can occur that only hurts one side. That one groups suffering should be acknowledged while another’s is ignored. And that’s not conducive to real peace.

The ceasefire is between Israel and Lebanon, it’s not a Beirut only ceasefire. The Lebanese government and the Israeli government agreed to a ceasefire that will ideally prevent anymore exchange of fire to any territory. period.

3/3Like thank god for a ceasefire, but the Israeli population is suffering immensely prior to and throughout this war from hezb rockets making daily life near untenable and that can’t be ignored

2/3To clarify these rockets, missiles and drones fall on residential areas and have led to the evacuation of large swaths of the country, and/or people needing to hide out in bomb shelters, in response to every siren.

1/3Literally hundreds of rockets from Lebanon are fired at Israel daily. Yesterday was the largest rocket barrage sent to Israel since the ballistic missiles strike from Iran.
