The sentence 'I bought some new pens' followed by a smiley face written ten times on separate lines in the notes section at the back of a diary. Each line is written in a different coloured ballpoint pen. The box of pens is covering the bottom right hand corner of the page. The pens are the same colours as the writing.

#photooftheday #potd June 6th 2025. Spot the bee! There were actually at least 10 bees buzzing around enjoying this beautiful lavender bush in a front garden in a Kew.

A wide flower bed on the edge of a grassed area, next to a curved path. Formerly filled with bedding plants, it now contains drought proof planting. The plants are small as they are quite new. Behind the path is a hedge, a wooden bench and a block of 2000s built low rise apartments. The grass looks dry and worn.

Two 1960s (I think!) Aston Martin cars on a well kept lawn in front of a white picket fence. Both cars are shades of green. Behind the fence is a hospitality filled with smartly dressed people. The whole are is surrounded by tallish buildings of a range of ages and styles.

A square stained glass window which is part of a room divider. In the middle is a gold pane in the shape of a bell with 'The Bell' written in the centre. The woodwork surrounding the window looks old. The little succulent plant in a Scandinavian style pot on the shelf below looks very modern.

#photooftheday #potd 108/365 Kite Festival, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Northumberland. Didn't realise that the kite festival was on when we decided to Parkrun at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea this morning, so it was a very nice surprise.
Several large kites being flown from a beach behind a yard full of fishing boats. The kites are many different shapes, including a very large, yellow inflatable lizard and lots of fish.

#photooftheday #potd 105/365 Easter is coming. The felt chick is a new addition this year. We got her from a craft shop in Basingstoke. The red cardinal is from Niagara Falls, Canada and lives there all year round.

A piece of outdoor sculpture on a platform. It consists of a turquoise coloured ring, a blue vertical tube with what looks like a coil of the same material at the bottom of and an orange structure which might be the shape of an anchor. Much of the orange structure is obscured by the turquoise one. In the back ground is the wood clad Astrop Fearnley Museet and some modern apartment buildings. It is a grey and cloudy day.
