Our Pineapple Street Union members are headed back to the negotiating table today. Please take a minute to send a letter to Audacy/Pineapple Street Studios' management urging them to agree to a fair, equitable contract for WGAE members that includes successorship and just cause. 🔗⬇️

We’re back at the bargaining table today and tomorrow for what will probably be marathon bargaining sessions.

I think this is the first time a unionized podcast has done an episode about their own union at a major outlet

Three of our unit members (Mia, Gnoems and Tracy) got together to talk about how we unionized and what it’s like to spend two+ years fighting for a fair first contract.

In January, 90% of our Vox Media Union, Thrillist Union and The Dodo Union members made a demand to consolidate these 3 shops under one union and one contract. These WGAE members know they are stronger together and are fighting to unite.

Tonight iHeartMedia is being named Podcast Company of the Year at the Webby Awards. At bargaining this morning, management continued to propose salary minimums that are well below industry standard, and a lot of folks in our union have been here for years and never had a raise.

So far today we:
✅ Presented management with a pledge in support of our demands, signed by an overwhelming majority of the unit

✅ Entered our Unfair Labor Practices charge into the bargaining record

✅ Presented proposals including economics, benefits, discipline and discharge, and diversity

It’s May Day, aka International Workers’ Day. Seems like a good day for union bargaining.

We’re coming to the table in L.A. and virtually today, and marking almost TWO YEARS of bargaining. We presented our first proposals on May 26, 2022.

We haven’t been around here in a while, but we’re still around, including getting ready for bargaining, rallying our unit, and filing a ULP

at iHeartMedia asking them to join us in calling on the company to provide better pay and benefits. Now, we’re asking the same of all of you!🧵

iHeart is a publicly traded company. We can see exactly how much money we’re making the company. We know what we’re worth and so does management.

Since we won union recognition we’ve:
1. had bargaining sessions over 17 (!!) months
2. built connections with our members
3. supported each other as we offered multiple iterations of proposals and counters that we think are fair
