I disagree with the notion that sacrifice in general was/is about removing something from the productive realm. Yes perhaps that’s part of it. But from a religious perspective it’s about reciprocity. It’s feeding those beings on the Otherside who in turn feed/support you. They aren’t just metaphors.

Minor squibble though- as someone deeply invested in reviving Celtic spiritual practices- I don’t think the Gauls just make art and throw it in a hole to remove it from productivity. They were feeding their gods/spirits/ancestors. It’s a different paradigm. It was still a productive act.

It’s ironic posting how I appreciate your work and the notion that what we need more than online clout is community. I deeply resonate with that.

Maybe include liberals in your critique too since a bunch of them just hopped on that train?

No Harmless Power- biography of Nestor Mahkno. And a silly fantasy book called the Black Tongued Thief.

Yeah. It comes with thinking that “humanity” is only capable of doing good things. But unfortunately humanity is capable of monstrously evil things too and we need to understand that.

I started using it more both after reading RDO’s books, and after see Che Guevara referring to people in South America as Americans.
