I think that one's more about boiling a specific style of joke writing down to its core. No Marvel movie has that exact joke, but they have many jokes in them that feel like variations of it and could easily be substituted with "so THAT just happened". Does that make sense?

Those stories can be weird and confusing, so they're unlikely to appeal to a mainstream audience. Plus all the crossovers and characters you have to keep track of would be a turn off for people just looking for mindless entertainment.

I wouldn't go that far. It adds intrigue, more personal stakes and Batman experiencing Gotham through the eyes of someone underprivileged for the first time. Also Zoë Kravitz is great. Without it the movie would just be following Riddler's clues.

There's a scene in The Batman that feels like it's wandered in from a different, much worse screenplay. It's the one where Batman and Catwoman have a conversation at dawn. Not only is the dialogue awkward and ham-fisted, there's just not enough setup or chemistry to sell the kiss at the end.
