People exploiting Prufrock grievances are dragging us all to the ending of Hollow Men.
Canadian in Canada.
He won the last election, so that program didn't seem to have any material effect on the US.

And, if he's talking about foreign interference - a couple of Canadian & European politicians might have reason to sue him & his administration as well.

So puzzling.
Is it fears of Thanksgiving travel and Black Friday retail slumps? I guess that might lead to lower sales leading to Christmas as well. But, those can't be THAT significant to such a big economy as the US.
Plus, the GOP would've been easily bribed by big businesses to end the shutdown.

Aaah... I thought there was some actual research behind those products. I gather, they're part of the wellness industry.
The behaviour of the owners & their supporters are worrying. Especially since there was a resistance from farmers last year(?) to the Fed plan for additional biosecurity guidance.

Will read it more closely. Thanks 😊

This is the first time I've heard of these products.

Will look them up when I have time. Thanks.

Yup. It's ridiculous.
If they really loved ostriches, they would've left them in peace in their native habitat.
November 10, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Did the Dems fold because they wanted to fly home for Thanksgiving? Because it doesn't look like they managed to get any real concessions from the GOP.

I feel sad for disappointed Americans who thought that Dems were FINALLY standing their ground.

To be clear - the CPC response is embarrassing, not d'Entremont.
Regardless of party, regardless of our disagreements, politicians should be allowed to follow their conscience & do what's best for their constituents.
November 10, 2025 at 12:27 AM
At first I thought this was from the Beaverton.
How can people be expected to respect the CPC with stuff like this?
They need to get their act together. It's embarrassing.

AND it's rarely mentioned how difficult it was to get that famous image.
Growing crystals of large molecules, especially in those days, is hard enough (impurities, humidity, vibrations can ruin it). DNA doesn't crystallize like proteins. So it took a ton of knowledge and skill to get that image.

Oh... this is a sad description from one of his friends. To me, it describes someone who is anti-science:

"His gut, he felt, was a stronger guide to truth than empirical research or logic."

Or tiered access - like $10 will let you read & re-read 10 articles a year.

This!
That Harris lost because incumbents always lose during an economic downturn... As if Trump was some fresh candidate. As if Americans had no reference of what he was like as president.

When DeepSeek was released, there was talk that maybe ChatGPT isn't as computationally efficient as it could be. Did anything come out of that?
The scale of their planned data centers & projected energy use is absolutely horrifying.

He doesn't care because it's not his money. If he had to face consequences - like having to live on US minimum wage for the rest of his life - if he doesn't produce results within 10 yrs, I'm sure he'd be singing a different tune.
November 8, 2025 at 8:31 AM
Will recommendations, even ones that were voted down, be published? Or will a lot of things be kept from the public due to some weird interpretation of "cabinet privilege"?

It seems that the Ab gov is doing what it had planned on doing before the September negotiations. It's all very frustrating.
November 8, 2025 at 8:13 AM
It's even more disappointing that we hadn't heard any of this funding discrepancy from the union.
They're trying to paint the committee as a "win". But without funding to back up recommendations + task force votes limited to government - is anything actually going to get better?
November 8, 2025 at 8:13 AM
So a failed school trustee will co-chair the committee

AND

"The province said cabinet members will be the only “voting members.” "

So the UCP cabinet - the same ones who voted for the NWC, without debate - will get to force policies on stakeholders? Yeah, that sounds totally fair /s
November 8, 2025 at 1:07 AM
I can imagine them segregating those students to "address" complexity.
By sweeping the smaller population under a rug, they probably think the majority of parents & educators will "calm down" & stop asking for improvements.
November 7, 2025 at 7:41 PM
Smith's ideas were discussed during the last election.
She believed that Alberta will gain access to water as parts of other provinces will join Alberta & separate. It seems ridiculously presumptuous. I'm starting to suspect that she has - main character syndrome. To her, no one else has agency.
November 7, 2025 at 7:33 PM
Lastly.
Although Smith never answers the actual question, she does betray her view that using the NWC is no big deal.
She doesn't appreciate the gravity of suspending Albertans' rights.
She treats us like children who simply don't know better, so the UCP will force us to see the errors of our ways.
November 7, 2025 at 10:36 AM
without making any real improvements.
It's a tired cliche, but the UCP prefers to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic rather than avoid the iceberg.
November 7, 2025 at 10:27 AM
Also, her stock answer of - if X department can't solve the problem, then my government will step in & solve it for them - is getting old.
Changes imposed by the UCP on underfunded sectors hides long-term problems. Because they'll just ask people to "just wait" for the restructure to be completed
