These guys popped up next to the Fox Theater in Oakland right after the Mars Volta performance, and they actually stole the show for me.

This is a solar eclipse on Saturn. Titan transits in front of Saturn and casts a shadow. Made this timelapse yesterday, one frame every 3 minutes. Couldn’t capture the whole event because of clouds and those stupid trees.

Went to Lick Observatory yesterday. This is a 3-meter reflector telescope. It was awesome!

The Sun is quite active today. There was a significant coronal mass ejection, and this is my attempt to capture sunspots. A strong geomagnetic storm is expected over the next few days, so there's a chance to see the aurora at mid-latitudes.

The color version is nice, but for regular text, the bw version is far better. On the color version, I can clearly see diagonal stripes and grain. It is less readable in bright environment. Here is a side-by-side comparison:
