WHA's main character Coco is far more likable, the magic system is intricate and fascinating, the plot is intriguing and downright horrifying at times and actually tackles the unfair systems of Witch society, all with stunningly gorgeous art. I can't stress enough how much better it is than HP.
The beginning of Chapter 1. Coco and a deer are by a magic spring. We see the deer drink from it while Coco stares in amazement of the magic it has. "So beautiful", she says. "It never gets old. Magic is amazing!" Chapter 3, Qifrey, Coco's new teacher, explains the basics of creating magic sigils, from the 4 elements, to how the signs determining what spell will take place and which direction it goes, and the closing of the seal to activate the spell. The end of Chapter 5 and Volume 1. A mysterious, but familiar looking Witch with a beaded eye brim covering their face looks on at Coco and her new friends from a distance. "You are our...one and only hope.", they state. Volume 3 Chapter 13, Qifrey laments about a boy Coco met at the stationary shop, Tartah, who has Silverwash syndrome (colorblindness). "I imagine ours must be a tough world for him to live in," he states. "Refusal to accommodate differences is not an admirable quality of Witch society."
