This makes sense insofar as elder futhark comes probably from North Etruscan scripts. This kind of formal "familiarity" I noted regarding North Etruscan is also applicable to futhark. But I am unable to see any systemacity in the resemblances.

The shape of some letters may resemble the form of letters from the ancient alphabets of northern Italy (Raetic, Venetic), but there are no systematic correspondences, and there are other very different signs.
