The IFRC is horrified, shocked, and deeply saddened by the killing of five volunteers of the Sudanese Red Crescent who were on duty in the city of Bara, North Kordofan, on 27 October. Another three volunteers are still missing.

Disasters & emergencies take an immense toll not only on people’s physical health, but on their mental health & wellbeing too. Addressing global mental health and psychosocial needs is a vital part of the IFRC’s network work supporting healthy communities.
