Right, "breeds" today are just size, coat, and color manipulations bred by people. If you look close at, say, a Tonkinese breed's fur you can see the "M" on its forehead and rings on its tail. It's said domestic cats (and subsequent man-made breeds) originally came from this, the African Wildcat.
