I was going to suggest Vanity Fair as well, though it has been a while since I read it!
Romance of the Forest was also very fun to read in tandem with Emma. I don’t remember it having games in it, it was very fun seeing what sort of books might be influencing Harriet (and Emma’s) views on romance!

Has anyone been able to decipher what the original names were before they became fish?
I also now plan to begin using flourishes to draw fish over previous owner names in my second hand books…

The snowdrops are blooming in our garden, and it is cool enough to have the windows open and listen to the birds 🌷
