Maybe I shouldn’t have been worried because Japanese stories don’t tend to fall into that trap. If this had been a western story (especially from the U.S.), she definitely would have been that way.

I was worried Arise would make Kisara a stereotypical tomboy who despised anything and everything feminine, so I was so glad that wasn’t the case. Her struggle with balancing her fierce, masculine image as a guard captain and her desire to be treated like a girl is way more interesting.
