'These Heathens' by Mia McKenzie was so witty! This coming of age fiction follows the MC Doris Steele as she tries to obtain an abortion in the 1960s! If you love historical fiction then you will love this book! Can't wait to discuss book with the book Club. #booksky 📚

Finished 'Ring Shout' by P. Djèlí Clark. I enjoyed this book. It's a combination of historical fiction, magical realism and horror. If Clark writes a sequel I will definitely read it! #booksky 📚

'The Life of Josiah Henson' by Josiah Henson

Read both of these books back to back. Harriet Jacobs book was easier to read but both are amazing and necessary reading if you're looking to read accounts on enslavement in America. #booksky 📚
