Is it Monday already?
Quayside scenes at Gairloch harbour on the Scottish Highlands famously beautiful west coast. See alt text for description.

Here’s one for #BlueSkyMonday
and
#MountainMonday

Blue skies over Cairngorm Mountain and the Lairig Ghru; a layer of altocumulus fractures the rays beaming down on Glenmore from a glaring sun, now high in the sky in early March.

This was yesterday - no blue skies here today :(

I lost count at thirty, but I must admit I have a particularly bad case of pareidolia.

The theme of this Saturday’s #BlueSkyArtShow is #light

A streetlight shines through the bare branches of the trees, illuminating a snow-covered street in the early hours before the morning traffic breaks through the drift.

The summit of Cairngorm is hidden as a cold misty rain drifts across the face of the northern corries in late January 2025.

Lenticular clouds regularly form to the north of the Cairngorm plateau with southerly winds, and the view from my window at dawn is a great thing to wake up to. These, from a few days ago, became more defined but lost their colour as the sun rose.

These unusual clouds, lit by a fiery dawn, formed over the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland on 17th January 2022. This was coincidentally two days after the Tonga volcano eruption sent shock waves round the globe. I like to imagine there was a connection. #StormHour #competition #photography
