I'd more-or-less chock it up to zoomers (and this is 100% including me lol, I played the Steam ports before they stopped using DOS emulators) using ports like GZDoom for convenience but just using Brutal Doom because of the gameplay they're used to ---

I like Brutal Doom but I won't deny the kinds of consequences it had on the OG games

I more-or-less found myself enjoying Project Brutality more, but I have found myself feeling more forgiving of SgtMark's past digressions, considering how its nearly been a decade at this point.
