When everything gets copied, nothing feels new anymore. I wrote a short piece about what this means for design and brands, and why continual change might not be such a bad idea.

Every time I check Snøhetta’s website, I remember teenage me wanted to be an Architect, then went for Design. I love design, but good architecture kicks ass.

In the picture, a project by Snøhetta for the Heyligenstaedt area of Gießen.

Ffs, self directed excretion every 50min. You survive, but end up with some sort of PTSD.

Nice (new) commercial from Apple, voiced by the late Jane Goodall. Feels like a nod back to Apple’s roots of serving creative people. Also loved spotting a frame from one of my favorite films last year, Flow. Had no idea it was made on a Mac.

I really like Landor’s work, and I appreciate when designers showcase the attention to detail that goes into designing a logo.

But I honestly don’t get this animation from the case study.

With AI feeds, VR, and the inevitability of hyper personalized content it feels like we are building a prison for our minds, not AGI. We just can’t get away from attention sucking ad fueled business models.

OpenAI’s new TikTok-like social Network has a clever logo. Unfortunately it also tells a lot about the target audience they’re going for.

Just found out that the person behind one of my most listened albums when I was a teenager passed away years ago. Absolute legend. RIP Dominic Jacobson (aka Modaji)

Tried a new coffee this morning. I can’t tell the difference between types of coffee. But if the label says “notes of cookies and dark chocolate” suddenly I’m a connoisseur noticing the cookies and chocolate. Words are really powerful for the ignorant mind.

From craft beers to self-published zines. Creative movements against the homogeneity of mass production might be the best footprint we have about what is becoming (or will become) a reaction against enterprise and software monopolies.
