I’ve been thinking about how great it is that the open web has no gatekeepers… I’m trying to figure out how to actually explain that in a way that will resonate to regular people.

I think they help build community on slack instances. I don’t have experience when them on mastodon but could see something similar. 1 million is a bunch!
