This is an extremely lazy bit of journalism. There's an entire team, coaching staff, athletic department, and university administration to talk to and get a point of view, but you only have quotes from the two christian nationalist bigots. The safety issue is a red herring perpetuated by lies.

It reminds me of the bigoted backlash to Title IX in the 70s. That the same arguments were used to argue against women's parity in sports shouldn't be lost on these players and coaches. I don't think they understand that those that won the election would love to eliminate Title IX protections.

Somehow, as a little leaguer at the time, we adapted to girls playing on our teams. But here we are again fighting the same battle. Heard all of this before.
