Very interesting. Barrett's pivotal self-recusal, particularly.
I am taking frequent note of Barrett's positions and recusals.

President Xi is absolutely right, and he stated it well. But then, why does Xi also persist with bullying of its neighbors? It looks bad and is bad--incredibly bad--for Trump to do this. And so it is the same when Xi bullies nearly every neighboring country. Screenshot from CNN:

The New York Times gets a nomination from me for best-art-in-political-journalism. Now, we are just waiting for the next seismic event.

And there's this. Caving to Trump does not get my support.

Finally, there is something about which we can thank Donald Trump and be ever so grateful. Three cheers for Donald Trump! Good job, Donald, you finally did something constructive.

Keep it going, Canada! This is no time to hesitate. Top graph is Trump's approval.disapproval. Bottom show approval rankings of Canadian parties' candidates for Prime Minister.

NY Times article on how Trump Admin can convince women to pop babies. Method is: reduce women's employment chances; alienate women from men by hostile male attitudes; erase women from gov websites; increase cost of raising a child; decrease child education opportunities; increase childhood diseases.

I am glad he's alive, and by what's visible, see that he's reasonably okay. But still, he was denied due process, and a family was broken. How many others like him have been swept up, and where are they?
Good to see this Congressional representative going into action.

CBS News poll, reported by CNN, the majority view summarized by me: Trump has abysmal economic policies. He's responsible for a sucky economy--not Biden. Things are getting worse. My own view: Economic corruption galore, and he's taking America down in order to pick up the shattered pieces.

A Bipartisan letter was written by Co-Chairs of the Planetary Science Caucus, Reps. Don Bacon (R-NE) and Judy Chu (D-CA) and is being circulated to gain more Congressional sign-ons. They want to boost NASA's science budget in FY 2026, rather than bend to budget crashing. It reads in part:

Headline from Quartz.com. By dropping more than 4% in each of three consecutive days, the stock market would be doing something it has not not since The Great Depression. Looks like that's in the works.

Stock futures indices are again looking at an enormous sell-off tomorrow. Bill Ackman, a billionaire supporter (former supporter?) of Trump, says we are headed for an "economic nuclear winter" if Trump continues on the path of an "economic nuclear war on the world." From CNN just a few minutes ago:

Why would T be so desperate to disallow return of a person who was errantly detained by ICE and deported to El Salvador's gulag? Maybe because the man would be reporting on conditions in the prisons, and the report would stir public outrage and threaten to shut the program. Or something darker.

Donald is such a genius. Running America just according to his business skills. Losses in the stock market have wiped out the massive gains from the last 8 months of the Biden Administration. He managed to do this not just to America, but most of the world.
April 4, 2025 at 4:51 PM
Trump talks about China, China, China. Based on the responses of stock markets around the world, Trump is mainly causing wildly negative responses from our Allies and, most of all, the U.S. He is beating us all to death, but China... hardly a dip.
Gross malfeasance on the economy. From NY Times:
April 3, 2025 at 10:06 PM
Yep, T was to undo everything Biden achieved. In ten weeks since inauguration, T has mismanaged the economy so badly that he has wiped out the last stellar five months of Biden's stock market gains. Maybe we can't credit Biden for gains on his watch, but we definitely can credit T for his losses.

The "Trump effect" has Liberals ready to sweep Canada's Federal election. The Trump effect is at work here in the U.S., too, most recently in the Pennsylvania state senate election. A Democrat won in a district that Trump was by 15 points last November. People really don't like Trump at all.

Trump says US auto makers will be thrilled about new tariffs. You can see from US auto makers stock declines compared to foreign ones just how thrilled the U.S. is. From CNN:
