I feel that "spectrum" leads a lot of people to think of a linear scale. The electromagnetic spectrum is a linear scale of wavelengths of light, after all. Unfortunately, I don't know of a better alternative.

Yes. If SCOTUS doesn't side with him when it matters, then at the very least, going to war and then declaring martial law would be his path to remaining in power beyond his term.

I'm not convinced this is a good idea. I think it's what Trump wants so that he can justify going to war with them.

Yeah, I just watched something similar happen the other day. Someone did a BlockAMAGA post, and the person they said to block was anything but. It just feels like a witch hunt.

I think it's worth noting that the vast majority of medical professionals have a very poor understanding of autism, even these so-called "world-class" diagnosticians. Can they see if individuals meet the criteria listed in the DSM? Sure. But let's not forget that homosexuality used to be in the DSM.

A similar thing happened to me when my wife tried to call me "baby" but is used to calling my son "buddy." So now, "buddy baby" is a thing that gets said, sometimes on purpose.

Yeah, I've been saying for a while now that it's probably about as common as being left-handed. I recently heard that the heritability may be as high as 90%, which, if true, seems like it would make it more common than left-handedness.

Autistic people often have sensory differences. Understanding that I am autistic led to community, and from that community, I've learned strategies for dealing with my sand hand aversion. I can actually just plain enjoy the beach now. 😍
