Somehow over 40, bi as heck, geek, lover of 40k, video games, tanks and mechs.

Prefer to act my shoe size rather than my age; but that doesn’t pay the bills.
Got told that it’s wrong for me to take any form of enjoyment in anything with the world being in the state it is in.

I have two words in response.

The 2nd word is “Off”.

The sorts of people who are still upset about female custodes are the same type of people who will scream at children for having the audacity to not paint their army the exact right colour scheme.

So you know that episode of Friends, where Phoebe gets a cold and her voice gets deep and sultry?

I’m beginning to think that’s a lie.

Currently it sounds like I’m 14 again and my voice is breaking. There is nothing sultry about that.

Dug through my boxes of unpainted minis and found this fella.

Not sure if I planned it when I built him but I’m going paint him as a Commissar. Maybe a certain hero of the Imperium?

I'll let this video I have saved to my hard drive speak for itself.

Keep going and don't be afraid to fail.

I built this monstrous wonder about 18 months ago.

It sits on a shelf in my living room and makes me smile every time I see it

Another handful of troopers for the guard.

Can’t paint them yet as I forgot to pick up the paint I need. Because I forgot to add it to my list.

For an example of how weird British places can be to pronounce; I give the the Vale of Belvoir

Vale is pronounced “Veil” as you expect

Belvoir is pronounced “Beaver”

Yes I know, I live in the weird place.

Today I learnt that you can indeed sneeze, burp and fart at the same time.

I do not recommend.

Nor do I recommend the cold that I currently have.

So does anyone think a tv show / movie based on the Ciaphas Cain books with Henry Cavil playing Cain would be fun?

Simon Pegg as Jurgen?
Jason Issacs as Colonel Rorkins or even Lord Zyvan?
Olivia Coleman as Sister Julienne?

Or is it only in my weird imaginations any of this makes sense?

If the way to someone’s heart is actually through their stomach; then may I recommend they see a doctor?

Their anatomy seems rather messed up.

Phrasing is important

“Why do you have purple hair?” will lead to a far more polite answer than “Why isn’t your hair a normal colour?”

If I have to remain in the office for another 4 hours; I might have to stick two pencils up my nose and reply to any questions with “wibble”.

I was taught two important things growing up

- treat others as you wish to be treated
- never judge someone by who they are; judge them by their actions

I may never have kids of my own to pass those lessons to but you can be sure any nieces or nephews are going to learn them.

In good news, my hair is back to being purple AND my bathroom doesn’t look like it’s straight out of a horror film
.

In bad news I’ve eaten something my idiot of a digestive system doesn’t like and I’m in a degree of pain.

Just going to say that again.

Today is a good day.

Playing Darktide this evening and the quote of the night from my friend when he got a boltgun;

“It handles like a microwave but hits like a train”

So planning ahead for 2026.

- learn conversational Welsh
- pay off debts
- not loose my job
- stay at my current weight
- not get evicted.

Anything after that will be a bonus .

Much like Animal Husbandry being that underrated but awesome skill in a role playing game; I feel Logistics is the real world equivalent.

How to deal with me after a bad nights sleep based the hours of sleep I’ve managed to get;

6 - deal with normally
5 - deal with normally
4 - ply with coffee
3 - don’t get between me and the coffee
2 - there better be some coffee in the kitchen
1 - just hook the coffee machine to my veins!

Yes I’m one of those weirdos who prefers FF8 to FF7.

I like FF7, the music, the characters, the story and I have fully completed it.

But FF8 was the first one for me; I love the look and feel more; the cutscene when the gardens fight is epic.

I’ll take a gunblade over a buster sword any day.

Just remembered the time I ran an rpg with my friend (we had two parties) and in the final confrontation the last two remaining players rolled the exact same result.

Both I and my co-gm looked at each other with the exact same expression…..ok what the hell do we do now?
