Happy FISHdependence day!!!🎉

The 17th of June is Iceland's national day. On this day, we celebrate Iceland's independence from Denmark. In 1944 Iceland became fully independent from Denmark. We celebrate on the birthday of Jón Sigurðsson, who pushed for this movement.

Happy fishermen's day! 🐟

Fishing has always been an important part of Iceland's history & culture. So we celebrate fishermen on the first Sunday of June each year. In some towns you'll find boat rides on offer, free entries to museums & fishing competitions, sea swimming and concerts
