I made grilled cheese sandwiches in the air fryer and they're more like croutons but that's fine because they are only really a vessel to consume tomato soup

How it's going

My cat, a dark colored tabby, sleeps on her cat toy that is meant to entertain by having a moving toy under a lightweight cover for the cat to pounce on. She loves it. But tonight, she is using it for comfort it seems.

Some more scenes from our hike this afternoon

The end of a mossy log with a tall whiteish mushroom growing on it except it's bent over now and another mushroom companion down below next to the log and peeking through the brown leaves on the ground. There are some tiny baby mushrooms in the moss as well.

A trail in the woods that is almost entirely covered in wet brown leaves that look like soggy bran flakes. The trees are sporting yellow leaves and there is an assortment of greenery on both sides of the trail.

After so much rain the past couple days & increasingly more rainy days every week now, it was a joy to be out in the sun on a hike today.

A view of a calm bay on the south part of Puget Sound. Dark green line the left bank along with a few light colored trees. In the distance there are some gentle hills.

Same bay as described in previous with basically the same view. This time it's the right bank. The water is nearly glassy except for some kelp and a few ripples.

Considering this as my next haircut but is this really just a basic bob hairstyle like so many of us had 20 years ago? I want something a little bit ... daring.

Half the reason I refuse to say beanie is that it's the California term for it, and I associate it with my ex who is the person who introduced me to the term. The other half is that this is what a beanie is:

I do not have any cast iron precisely because I don't have the mental stamina for things that require maintenance and special attention. Sad, but true.
I gravitate toward things that require energy but are inherently ever-evolving or temporary. Jigsaw puzzles. Journal-writing. Exercise. Teaching.
