Yes!!! Ari Aster is a great director with some seriously wild horror chops. I'm glad you liked it.

I have! I enjoyed the Dante's Inferno throughline, but I agree that it didn't deliver on the premise as much as I hoped. Another found footage one I enjoyed is The Taking of Deborah Logan, but that one is also slow-burn.

I should have warned you about the slow initial pace. Might have been the headspace I was in when I watched it, but I loved the cosmic horror aspect and depiction of the god.
Have you seen Hereditary? It might be more up your alley.
