I’ve updated all of my patterns which are now up on Ravelry, my web site, and Ko-fi (free; link below). (For the geeks I’m using the XeLaTeX typesetting engine and Stitchmastery to streamline the process and bring some consistency to them all). #Knitting #Knitsky #Beanies 🧶

BIO • I work in the activist #printmaking tradition. I do a lot of #knitting. I have worked as an archivist, and I data-wrangle and code in Perl and Hugo for web sites. Old-tech advocate. An adoptee, I found my original family in 2016 in Lebanon. I am unwillingly retired from an ageist academia. 🧶🥚🇵🇸

WORK IN PROGRESS: Many years ago I got it into my head that I could knit a kufiyyeh from the center out. This involved designing a transitional pattern along the four spines of the headscarf such that the pattern seems to… | 1/3 | #WIP #knitting #knitsky #showmeyourknits 🧶

Work-in-progress: Testing a non-repeating beanie pattern I submitted to John Arbon Textiles’ Annual competition. Figuring out beanie crown decreases; thinking this might be better as a cowl. Using Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok and two circular needles method. #WIP #showmeyourknits #knitting #knitsky 🧶

These socks were a bit of an experiment, using up some leftover Holst yarns (Coast (wool/cotton) + Tides (wool/silk)). Not sure 100% successful, but an instructive knit. Still playing around with no-plastic sock yarns, at least I have my recipe down for sock knitting! #Soctober #Knitting #Knitsky 🧶

#AbolishICE Beanies are queued up, in progress, and finished! Current projects on Ravelry (link below). Some knitters have dropped a section repeat and gone up in yarn weight and needle size. Happy to see the variations and exploration! #KnitSky #Knitting 🧶

Knitting 4x2 rib based on some sock recipes, marling two strands of Holst Garn Coast (half cotton/half wool) and one strand swapped out for Holst Garn Tides (30% silk) for the toes and heels. Knit two at a time on a pair of circular needles. Almost done!

I do this thing while testing where I get to the crown decreases and then cast on another. Reworking my Nakba 75 Beanie for wool, revising a bit the cotton pattern. Stony Hill Fiber Arts fingering cotton + Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Light wool.

A "more visceral" statement motif was requested and added. Truth is, I had designed it but didn’t include it in favor of the preferred slogan of immigration activists. Given the great tester feedback, the option of 2 motifs in one beanie is perhaps the way to go! #AbolishICE #knitting #knitsky 🧶

It’s black and purple (and green) but not meant to be spooky! My sister saw this shawl on a contestant on Jeopardy and asked me to knit it up; definitely a labor of love. The Willow Shawl by Natalia Moreva. Yarn: Fiber Optic Yarns Unified Kashmir Gradient. #knitting #showmeyourknits #knitsky 🧶

Abolish ICE beanie finished. Suggested yarn for this beanie is fingering or sport weight; free pattern link below. I used some stash Camper 100% Highlands wool from Kelbourne Woolens. Will work up a version in cotton as well. #AbolishICE #knitting #knitsky 🧶

A request from @annekosseffjones.bsky.social for a beanie pattern led me to modify a “stock” beanie pattern of mine to fit the bill. It is designed for fingering/sport-weight yarn; cotton and wool have both been tested. Interested in test knitting? DM me an email! #knitsky #knitting #abolishICE 🧶

Currently revising my Nakba 75 Beanie for different sizes as well as wool. Letterforms are in square-kufic Arabic. Here using domestically grown and plied organic cotton in fingering from Stony Hill Fiber Arts. Illustrated table (artist unknown) in Tompkins Square Park, NYC. #knitsky #knitting 🧶

I have revised as well for size options and cotton my #MalcolmX Beanie, here in Scheepjes unmercerized Cotton 8 yarn. The letterforms are in square-kufic Arabic and spell out Malcolm X. I was dogsitting in Hoboken, NJ with my partner and the skyline made a perfect backdrop. #knitsky #knitting 🧶
