When I play FTF I always have a laptop next to the map. The HTML rulebooks I have are superior to the official RB, it the main reason is LOS checks on VASL.
Gone are the days of moving 7 stacks to check a LOS.

I play VASL everyday. I play ftf about once a month. VASL IMHO is far superior. Good luck!
