On Oct. 28, IATSE took part in a Lobby Day on Parliament Hill, advocating for a federal tax credit for live performing arts.

With reps from Local 56, IATSE Canada, and the Creative Industries Coalition, we met MPs including Ginette Lavack (MB) and John Zerucelli, Sec. of State for Labour.

IATSE VP John Lewis joined affiliates of the Canadian Labour Congress in a meeting with Minister of AI and Digital Innovation Evan Solomon. Together, they discussed how labour can collaborate with the Federal Government as it works to promote and regulate the ethical use of Generative AI.

BREAKING: Employees at Sunbelt Film and Television Rentals in Toronto (fka William F. White International) have ratified their first collective agreement.

This agreement covers workers at a film and television equipment supply company and is the only collective agreement of its kind in Canada.
