The problem with capitalism is that eventually, all the rich have all the money.

Aided in no small part by the collective apathy of the general population. We are currently heading to hell in handcart.

For God sake people, wake up!!

I put this as the root cause of most of this country's problems

This is the real problem. They are not taxed enough in the first place

It's also not right that the highest rate of tax is only double the basic rate, when the 'high earner' could be on many times more than the basic rate earner. Not taxing fairly is the reason the country is on it's arse, there was a time when it wasn't.

Correct

Here's why
August 5, 2025 at 8:26 PM
It wasn't always like this. There was a time when a fairer tax system supported a fairer society for all, properly funded medical care, social housing, social services, education, libraries, transport, etc, etc. Then capitalism kicked in, and inevitably, the rich got richer, and the money ran out.

Or just tax the rich to even things up, like we used to
August 3, 2025 at 3:32 PM
There just isn't enough money to go around nowadays. There was a time when there was though

'The problem with capitalism is eventually you run out of money'. Privatisation and not taxing, the better off properly, eventually leaves no money to spend on hospitals, medical care, social care, housing, schools, policing, transport, etc. The decline in the UK can be traced directly to the 1980s
