Apparently Donald Trump made some disparaging comments about Lesotho in his speech last night. It is a gorgeous country full of surprises; I really enjoyed each time I visited Lesotho when I lived in South Africa. (I wish I had more pictures to share.) I'd love to go back again someday.

I enjoy how my understanding of the world opens up when I read a good novel. Blessings by Chukwuebuka Ibeh is a great read about a gay teenager coming of age in Nigeria and navigating family, relationships, and friendships as his view of the world expands.

Last weekend, I shared some dissertation research at the Sociology of Development conference. The conference theme was "Solving Global Poverty." It's ambitious, but I was inspired by great presentations from academics and practitioners from around the world.
