These posts from @alanbeattie.bsky.social and @davekeating.substack.com were juxtaposed in my timeline

- Pope advocates monogamous heterosexual relationships
- Same-sex marriage to be recognised throughout EU

I checked. The Vatican is not in the EU.

Did not know that before.

Dunno Doug, looks like your working relationship with ChatGPT is breaking down.

It seems to be one exchange away from saying, "OK I may hallucinate but at least I know what 'final' means!"

Just found out that Episode 2 of Traitors aired this evening.

Very happy that BlueSky let's you mute keywords for 24 hours so I can avoid spoilers until I catch up

There's a gap, so I asked GPT5 to fill it.

It did very well:

-Net zero is the new Brexit — a battle no party dares fight honestly

-The middle class has given up on universities — and they’re right

- Sport is no longer an escape — it’s become another culture war front

For the prompt, I provided the Mandate for Leadership (project 2025) pdf and the following instruction to GPT o3.

The full prompt is in the alt-text. Please use it and improve upon it if you wish.

Lastly, remember that I did not write this thread's contents. It was AI.

I don't normally post work stuff here but my company, @1827marketing.com has just published an article about the uses of AI video in marketing.

This little animation, made in Midjourney using an image also generated in Midjourney, is so cute that I wanted to share it again.

This viral video of Indonesian boat racing finally reached me.

I had no idea that this was a thing.

Whatever the real reason for your trip to Oxford, you seem to have written a really effective and wholesome short course on dealing with social anxiety.

These two posts should be framed somewhere, or maybe you could make a fortune on the self-help lecture circuit.

It is Pride Parade Day in Sao Paulo

We're watching from London.

The sign language interpreters and co-host, including Diva Depressão (Depressed divas) are doing a fabulous job.

Here's Ludmilla performing to an unbelievably huge crowd.

@mikecaulfield.bsky.social Have you tried your SIFT framework and prompt with Manus?

If not, you might be interested to see how it deals with your sample diabetes question (which it says is correct)

In this video it uses to-do, search, browser, markdown file editor, Linux terminal and pdf creation

Waymos summoned and set ablaze in Los Angeles.

Lime bikes used as projectiles or to block police ramps in Seattle.

At some point a smart cultural theorist is going to write an fascinating PhD on how protestors started to weaponize platform economy hardware.

Just got access to Google's new Gemini Diffusion Model.

First impressions are:

- it's extremely fast
- text generation is very bland, even by the low standards of generative AI
- seems pretty good at coding

I think you will like a lot of what Zanin has to say about algorithmic amplification in the links I shared.

It is very much aligned with the concerns you raise in this thread.

One example:

I'm watching CNBC's livestream from Los Angeles.

I was curious about why so many troops were stationed at what looks like a healthcare facility.

ChatGPT o3 was able to identify precisely which building is in the footage and explain why it was chosen.

The explanation is in the screenshot here.
